Half Moon Bay is nestled between forested hills and cliffside ocean views. Just South of San Francisco, this small getaway of a town is lovely to say the least. Half Moon Bay began as rural agricultural area for grazing cattle, horses and oxen for the Mission San Francisco de Asis. Today it is a tourist haven with quintessential Northern California beaches. The “Jetty” is a popular spot and is often called “The Breakwater”. It is a man-made break with unusual waves shaped by reflections from the breakwater at Pillar Point Harbor. The streams that lead into Half Moon Bay are Frenchmans Creek, Pilarcitos Creek and Naples Creek.
The Douglas Beach House is a casual, yet sophisticated oceanfront venue. With gorgeous views of the coast (lets be real...it is what you came for after all!), and a down to earth vibe, the Douglas Beach House is the perfect spot to host your upcoming nuptials. Keep it simple and elegant and let the view do the talking!
Mill Rose Inn is the ultimate getaway destination for you and your guests! A European boutique style inn known for its exuberant gardens, close proximity to Half Moon Bay’s beaches and luxurious rooms, Mill Rose Inn is a gem! You’ll feel transported to the English countryside, but still within walking distance of the California beaches you know and love! There is a reason why they have been voted the “Most Romantic Inn in Northern California” so if you’re looking to host a romantic and classic wedding, look no further! Let Archive help you design your wedding to be authentically you!
Some of our favorite things to do in Half Moon Bay are walk along the Half Moon Bay Coastside Trail, visit Mavericks and Miramar beach, visit Pillar Point Harbor, see the classic lighthouse at Pelican Point Beach, take a trip to Lemos Farm or visit the Half Moon Bay Distillery and enjoy the view while sipping on ultra-premium small batch spirits - you can even do a tour if you are a true enthusiast! If you are in town in mid-October, check out the Pumpkin Festival that is held on the historic Main Street. This festival celebrates all things pumpkins, art, wine and community. You won’t want to miss it!
