Wanderlust in the Desert

Here’s one for the wanderlust: a romantic sunset over the sweeping desert landscape of Joshua Tree, with rich, sultry textures contrasting the neutral backdrop! The brilliant design was imagined by the team at Bustle Events, and we were ecstatic to be contribute to this exotic collaboration!

Bustle Events’ own design maven Marina Tolentino said about the event:

The design concept for this styled shoot began with the colors of marsala and turquoise and a backdrop of the stunning desert wilderness in mind. The look developed into a little bohemian, a little tribal, and a lot of breathtaking details. The neutral colors of Joshua Tree’s cacti and rock formations begged for rich colored details to help show off Mother Nature’s creations.

Amanda from Thorne Artistry created three amazing looks for our models to wear, each of them unique and equally striking. Using turquoise stone in the jewelry from Erin Fader and Shel Couture as well as an embellished skull from Child of Wild really helped incorporate a bit of the Native American feel and bring that pop of beauty to the photos. Another way we tied in the cultural element to the shoot was with a beautiful table runner to use as a prayer shawl for the ceremony look. The calligrapher, Kristina, hand wrote an Indian wedding prayer that could have been used as vows.

One of my favorite parts of the entire shoot was the ceremony “teepee” created by Leaf it to Lexi. The garlands of deep red carnations mixed with branches and grass details came together so perfectly. I did a fun little DIY project with the floating oho de dios that helped bring in something unexpected and different to the look. They were super simple to make, using a few small dowels and yarn. We had so much fun working with our models, Anna and Derek, a real engaged couple who are planning to wed this summer. After winning our Instagram giveaway they decided to have a romantic weekend in the desert together in nearby Palm Springs. They are the cutest and have undeniable chemistry that just screamed all kinds of love that we as vendors are crazy about!
The colorful aisle was created with our Ali Rug and Glass Hurricane Candle Holders.

The lounge area featured our Azhar Rug, Jasmina Rug, Aztec Puffs, Moroccan Leather Poufs, Brass Chargers, Vintage White China and Amber Glass.
