Holiday Craft Party Ideas

Archive Rentals

Warmest Holiday Greetings,

This week we are continuing our designer holiday challenge with an eclectic craft party look, curated by our very own Alexandra “Al” Swanson. Al’s picks honor the varying textures of nature, proving that bringing the outdoors in will never go out of style. Slate, marble, wood, metal and fur all take center stage with this must-have craft party…. just don’t forget the craft cocktails! 😉

My dear friend and designer Valerie Killeen (ShelterBlack.com) always hosts the most inspiring holiday craft parties, boasting of various stations, included (but never limited to) plant terrariums, woven wall tapestries, marbled ornaments and jewelry making with crystals (foraged by herself… naturally).  While the craft stations alone are impressive, it is nothing compared to her home decor line up.  The first thing every guest says without fail upon stepping into her home generally falls within the statements of “are you freaking kidding me, I’m stealing that rug”//”holy crap Val, where did you get those marbled shelving units”//”you’re joking, I had no idea you could pull off mixing alpaca fur with chrome piping and a vintage striped surfboard”… and so this mood board was birthed.  Craft your heart out.

Keep up on Instagram for our final designer holiday challenge, followed by a fun holiday giveaway… trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

xo,

Alexandra Swanson

Meet Al:

Full name: Alexandra Kay Swanson

Nickname: Al

Years at Archive: 2

Tip: When in doubt always fall back on: odd numbers, height variety, sticking to the color palette.

Favorite part about working with Archive: How much we are like family… and how obsessive/easily distracted we all equally are by anything from a vintage brass demitasse spoon to a stone on the beach.

Favorite Archive piece: The Swanson Sofa(#obvy)

Fun Fact: I collect sticks… and rocks… and sea glass… oh, and desert glass (yes it exists).  In essence, if I could live outside I would.
