When California Wedding Day announced that Archive Rentals & Krista Jon for Archive were BOTH finalists for their Best Of Bride 2014 awards, we were floored. We jumped at the opportunity when they called us up and asked us to be one of five designers to make with Best of Bride Party come to life.
The Best of Bride party at the The Ebell Hotel in Los Angles celebrated the finalists and winners announced in California Weddings Day’s Fall Winter Best of 2014 issue. Knowing that we would be designing for some of the best planners, designers, florists, photographers, and venues in the biz, we took the opportunity to do something unique and different. We were inspired by New Orleans’ Bourbon Street and The Louisiana Bayou, creating a seedy lounge complete with hanging ferns, neon signs, craft cocktails & southern bites.
To capture the essence of Bourbon Street, we set the scene of an illustrious jazz club; complete with a live jazz band (courtesy of Scott Cummings Music), vibrant vintage marquee lights, luxurious leather couches, subtle creole details, and authentic New Orleans style cuisine.
We used a slew of our Neon Signs to bring the streets of the French Quarter into The Ebell of Los Angeles.
Our Orleans Bar Tables were the perfect touch to make this cocktail party perfectly functional. An eclectic mix of accessories including cigar boxes, votives, and vintage goblets dressed up our lounges.
Our Celestial Sofa, Guilford Cigar Chair, Mavis Green Velvet Chair, Burton Trunk & Terese Rug, complete with brass candlesticks transformed The Ebell into an eclectic yet lush lounge that you’d expect to find in a vintage jazz lounge from another era.
Our Jordan Sofa & Vixen Chairs spiced up another cozy lounge in a “jazz club”.
Our Le Swan Chairs & Delphine Side Table were the perfect touch in our Palm Reader’s Corner. Although, Krista Jon Florals were the real showstopper! To offset the vivacious ambiance of the jazz club, we added an enclosed miniature bayou adorned with lush, southern greenery, vintage trinkets, and rustic lanterns to bring us to Louisiana’s infamous swamps. The area served as the food station, where guests were able to taste all of Pechan’s delicious creole dishes. The combination of the Bourbon Street jazz club and bayou displays were able to recreate and embody the lively spirit of the city and kept us ooh-ing and ahh-ing with enjoyment all night. Krista Jon covered the entire shack in moss and wood slabs to transport guests into the swamps of Louisiana.
Our Shack, Coverdale Metal Chairs, Farm Windows, Screens, Coolers, and other vintage props made this Bayou come to life.
