Located on the Southern edge of the Monterey Bay, this city was the capital of California’s past. It was home to California’s first theater, public library, public school, printing press and newspaper. It has since become a haven for artists, painters and writers - probably due to the inspiring beauty of the city! The picturesque bay and historical buildings offer endless inspiration!
A historical Queen Anne vernacular-style Victorian home, The Perry House is filled with lush gardens. It has a timeless feel and is the perfect blend of new and old. They site also offers unbeatable views of the Monterey Bay and City Lights. Originally built in 1860, this venue is on Monterey’s “Path of History” tour. They host weddings, corporate events, anniversary parties, birthday parties - any special event you can think of! We love this venue because it is a peek into the history of the Monterey area.
Wave Street Studios is a rad spot in town that hosts a variety of events. From wedding, to corporate, to community events, this space is easily transformed to fit your needs. It has both an indoor and outdoor space. They serve local coffee, a tearoom and succulent gardens! They even have a bamboo dance floor - we weren’t kidding when we said this place was rad!
Monterey’s top attraction is the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The bay is known for its abundance and diversity of marine life and this aquarium showcases this variety in an educational format. One of the largest aquariums in North America, it is not too be missed!
In addition to countless hikes and beach adventures in town, there is a ton to do in Monterey! Old Fisherman’s Wharf is a go to spot with plenty of restaurants and shops along the water. Cannery Row is a neighborhood with a plethora of historic buildings and vintage shops. Once a year, tourists flock in for the Monterey Jazz Festival. And last, but certainly not least, you can not miss the dolphin and whale watching in Monterey - it is some of the best in California!
